A story about Maya Angelou

I had read Maya Angelou’s work, and jumped at the chance to drive down to Northfield to hear her render a lecture to students and interested community members one year – my friends and I sat in an overflow room and watched a live video of her talk – splendid, deep and inspiring – and by chance got to thank her briefly in person, afterwards.

Oh. My. What a light in the world she is. Thank you, Ms Angelou. Thank you.

A story about RuTemple

She wrote back my first day on 43 things—and cheered me—thanks for the encouragement…and gave me Dave’s Garden site!(A great site!)

A story about Ray Kurzweil

Back in the early 1980s a friend and I had the opportunity to use an early Kurzweil Reading Machine.
It was klunky, but prototyped many things to come.

How I met RuTemple

I met Ru Temple in San Francisco in 2005 while my husband and I were there shooting a video. We had known each other through LJ but had never met, so it was a special delight for me. We enjoyed breakfast and sharing journals, and then took a stroll around the Mission District seeing all the artistic highlights. Ruth has a fabulous sense of humor and is a wonderful talented artist in so many media. My favorite moment was seeing her in her environment – in the sunny parlor (with aged cat and beautiful wall-hangings) in her kitchen where she dyes and bookbinds to the lemon tree in the back yard (from which she makes marmalade.) And she is a bibliophile like I am, so I felt completely at home.

Who introduced me to Kaytecat

We first met because we were both on the “Contact Dyke” list for Minneapolis with a lesbian zine in the 1980s, and she called up to see who the others in town were. We found cross-connections and friends-in-common and interests-in-common galore, and became immediate lifelong friends.
She’s an artist, photographer, morris dancer, psychicly gifted, and perhaps most importantly Silly person I adore.

A story about RuTemple

I met RuTemple on the phone. We both on the same list, willing to give out information to travelers (must remember to spell with one l) reading a certain newsletter. That was the beginning, and was many long years ago. Do you remember?

A story about me

Hey! I’ve got DECADES to go before I reture, much less before I cop to getting “old”.
hugs

but, snif nobody’s tagged me yet!

A story about RuTemple

Rutemple is an LJ buddy who regularly inspires me with her businesses that allow her such freedom as well as the joy of pursuing her dreams. She’s a wonderfully strong lady who lives life without apology. One of those women who chose to start wearing Purple LONG before she retired :>.

A story about twilight2000

I love your take on this place: a great way to stay on top of what’s important rather than what’s urgent.
Inspires me to plunk more of those “someday/maybe” wishes out there, out loud, so I can start dreaming toward them a little more fiercely.

hugs
